Today was another very busy day in communication technology class. I continued working on my graphics project today. I am currently done my wordmark for the assignment, although I still haven't put the wordmark on a business card or letterhead. The graphics project this time is a little more strenuous in my opinion, because there are many more technical steps involved in the project. I found that downloading fonts online were very annoying today. Every time I downloaded a file onto the font book, the font would not show up on Adobe Illustrator. I finally had to switch computers with one of my friends in order to get my wordmark done. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day, as I still have to complete my business card and letterhead, along with my target market and product profile.

Communication technology class today was another day to work on our graphics assignment. Today, Mr. Tammik continued a tutorial on making wordmarks on Adobe Illustrator. I personally really enjoy graphic design, so I found the tutorial to be very interesting. I was especially interested in how one could modify "glyphs" on illustrator by converting the text into an object. I think that I will be able to make good use of this technique to enhance my wordmark. We were given a little bit of time after the lesson to start making thumbnails for our wordmarks. I experimented with some fonts and found them to be pretty effective.

Today in communication technology class, Group E and F continued working on our graphics projects. Mr. Tammik started us out with a lesson on some basic wordmark information. He led us through an Illustrator worksheet about Typeface in order to help us in our wordmark designs. The lesson was rather long, as there was a lot to cover. I learnt that a wordmark is a graphic representation of a business, or product through only text. In comparison, a device mark is a graphic representation using symbols and images. I found it very interesting when we learnt about the "cases" in type. I was surprised to find out for example that uppercase are only called that because they were originally kept in the higher case in printing presses.

Today in communication technology class was the first day to work on our second round of graphics projects. The majority of the classs today was spent on an introduction of the assignment by Mr. Tammik. Unlike the other assigments in audio, video, and graphics, this graphics project is done individually (with an individual mark). For this project, we are to create a wordmark for a product or service that we also have to fabricate. After we create the wordmark, we are to paste the wordmark onto a business card and letterhead. Hopefully, this project will go well.

Today was a rather lazy day in communication technology class. My group had already finished with our video project, while the other group had not. I think we mostly had this time advantage because we used the HD digital SLR camera (which shoots video) instead of the standard video camera that uses tapes. By doing so , we saved a lot of precious time with the "capturing" of video, and editing of files. Unlike the previous video project, we did not have to scramble to finish everything. Instead, we were able to get the small details perfect for the project. Hopefully, our second video project will receive a good grade.

Today in communication technology class was the second last day to work on our second round of video projects. My group is nearly done our Public Service Announcement, which is a relief. The only things we have left to do are to fiddle with some of the text in our project, and to adjust the colour settings to black and white for the some of the shots. I feel that we have done a good job on this video assignment, as we made efficient use of time, and were careful to not make any major errors.

Commmunication technology class today was yet another day to work on our video projects. My group is currently working on adding text, and positioning the shots in order to match with the music. The text is rather troublesome to work with at times, because we have to use another program called motion to create it. The files that this program creates are rather large, and are difficult to import at times. Our group had to spend a lot of time simply waiting tfor the files of text to save, or import.
