Today in communication technology class, Group E and F continued working on our graphics projects. Mr. Tammik started us out with a lesson on some basic wordmark information. He led us through an Illustrator worksheet about Typeface in order to help us in our wordmark designs. The lesson was rather long, as there was a lot to cover. I learnt that a wordmark is a graphic representation of a business, or product through only text. In comparison, a device mark is a graphic representation using symbols and images. I found it very interesting when we learnt about the "cases" in type. I was surprised to find out for example that uppercase are only called that because they were originally kept in the higher case in printing presses.
